Steinway Pianos—Creating Brilliant Music

Steinway pianos have made their way through the tough industry and become the best. They are one of the very few companies that are known for handmade pianos. An ideal piano takes approximately one year to build. The effort, balance of work and excellence that goes into making it is insane when one thinks about the labour and thought processes. There are over 12,000 specialized parts to a piano, which may also be known as the grand piano since smaller pianos—made for novices and beginners can be made with fewer parts and fewer number of people. A grand piano takes the hard work and labour of an estimated 450 individuals all of which have received much training under supervisors and consultants that have been in the business for centuries.

The casing of a grand piano is made from laminated rock maple which makes the surface durable and extremely strong. Beams are then added to support and hold up the piano giving it balance and firmness. The method of making all of these components is what is was 130 years ago, when the pioneers first started—the tradition is still upheld and adhered to. The plating located inside the piano is made of cast iron which can withstand a string tension exerting 20 tons of force. These plates are treated and polished to have engraved the brand name on them. Next up are the soundboards which are known to be able to convert the vibrations of keys into audible sounds emitted by the piano. A material called spruce is used to make this board which is rounded off to facilitate the maximum projection of sound. Richer, smoother and infinitive sounds are therefore created because the foundational materials are unique and beautifully assembled.

The bridges and strings used for grand pianos are also as grand as it is itself. A Steinway piano employs the work of an estimated 264 strings. These are then glued and assembled with professionalism and extreme skill since these strings are what will be hit to make the sounds used to entice the audience of extreme measures. A few extra measures are taken to make sure the quality of this grand piano exceed any other that is made in the world.

In short, the Steinway piano gives the perception of the grandest instrument ever to be created. A lot of work goes into what makes a heavenly masterpiece and with the work of many, and the effort and knowledge of many an expert, perfection has been surpassed.
